Miami Carnival 2010 did nice…

The month of October brings about fallen leaves, Halloween costumes and for South Floridians, Miami Carnival festivities. This year was no different from the next. I’m a carnival baby, and have been playing mas since the age of 4, so when this time of the year approaches, I instantly get nostalgic of past memories and excited on what’s to come. This year, I did things a bit differently from the past years, I went in search of all the fete tickets and purchased them in advance. This saved me money and the hustle of trying to search for them last minute. Miami Carnival brought about much change, especially when it came to the fetes.

Above is a photo of Marshal Machel Montano on the strip.

For those that aren’t fans of soca music, you would be happy to know that a lot of dancehall, reggae, and hip hop played in many of the parties over the weekend. Artist like Serani, Ding Dong, Spragga Benz, Elephant Man, and Mr Vegas performed over the weekend along with soca’s best acts, Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Kes, Swappi, Tallpree and so much more.

Miami Carnival took place at Land Shark Stadium aka Dolphins Stadium. More than 25 mas bands participated in the parade in front of thousands of spectators. Miami Carnival was a success and incident free with many out of towners wishing that the festivities could of lasted a little longer. Carnival please stay, don’t go away! Until next time, when I palance in the Greatest Show on Earth, Trinidad & Tobago carnival. See you there!
